Rikki Ann McConnell’s journey in healthcare has been shaped by a lifelong commitment to patient-centered care and a deep belief that healing should never be one-size-fits-all. She began her career at just 15 years old as a volunteer on an ambulance, where she quickly learned that listening to patients — truly hearing them — often matters as much as treatment itself.
After briefly exploring law enforcement, Rikki returned to healthcare, earning an Associate of Applied Science in Paramedicine with honors, followed by an Associate Degree in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Her work as a registered nurse in a Level I trauma center and later within a city jail system exposed her to the gaps, frustrations, and failures of traditional healthcare — experiences that ultimately reshaped her vision of what medicine should be.
As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Rikki founded The Hybrid Clinic Wellness Center to break away from the rushed, insurance-driven model of care. Her practice is built on the belief that patients deserve time, transparency, and real choices — not just prescriptions. She focuses on addressing root causes and supporting the body as a whole, integrating evidence-based medicine with functional and holistic therapies.
Under her leadership, The Hybrid Clinic Wellness Center offers services including Direct Primary Care, medical cannabis certifications, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, IV hydration, weight-loss management, therapeutic and medical massage, and other integrative wellness services. Rikki is known for helping patients explore natural and supportive options whenever appropriate — often before medications or surgery become necessary.
Beyond the clinic, Rikki serves as an adjunct professor teaching Cannabis Studies, where she educates future professionals and advocates for responsible, ethical, and science-based use of plant medicine. She is also a vocal advocate for patients who have felt dismissed, gaslit, or unheard within the healthcare system.
Rikki believes healing begins when patients are respected, empowered, and involved in their care. Her mission is simple but unwavering: to provide healthcare the way it should have been all along — human, honest, and centered on the individual.

I grew up in Botetourt and began my healthcare journey as a CNA, where I worked for 5 years before graduating in 2020 with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. My nursing background includes caring for acute long-term patients on ventilators, which taught me the importance of purposeful, patient-centered care.
At The Hybrid Clinic Wellness Center, I’m excited to combine my nursing experience with advanced T Shape 2 technology—supporting patients through both medical care and body contouring treatments as part of their overall wellness journey.
Outside of work, life is full and lively with my twin boys who keep me constantly on the go. We love all things outdoors and enjoy finding new adventures together!
